1. Gap funding from SWAMIH funds of SBI Cap ventures
Many projects in Bengaluru South received SWAMIH funds from SBICap Ventures to resume construction and move towards completion.
2. Reprieve for Guru Raghavendra Bank depositors
Ever since restrictions were placed on the Sri Guru Raghavendra Cooperative Bank in Bengaluru South, Tejasvi Surya worked to protect interests of depositors, who are mainly senior citizens with their retirement savings invested in the bank. His interventions first made the Government increase deposit insurance from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, then brought regulation of all cooperative banks under RBI and finally ensured that depositors get their deposit insurance within 90 days of filing an application. The Government’s moves have benefited 98.3% of the depositors and 50.9% of the deposit value in all banks.
3. Creating Accessible Public Places
Wheelchair ramps were installed at 100+ places in Bengaluru South in a collaborative effort with NGO RampMyCity and Delivery Service Provider Dunzo in an attempt to make public places more accessible.
4. Face-lifting Shankarpuram Police Station
Along with E9 Creatives, Tejasvi also assisted in the renovation of the Police Station in Shankarpuram and VV Puram. While the Bhumi Puja was performed in February 2022, the Shankarapuram Police Station itself was completed in just 60 days and inaugurated in May 2022.
5. Temple Cleanliness Campaign
In an endeavour to preserve Temples & restore their lost prestige, Tejasvi Surya started the ‘Temple Cleanliness Drive’ in Bengaluru South. Commemorating Veer Savarkar’s Jayanti on 28th May 2022, the campaign was started at Shri Someshwara Swamy Temple in Madiwala, BTM Layout with the participation of 125+ volunteers.
6. Sansad Udyoga Mitra
10 editions of Sansad Udyoga Mitra, an initiative to secure employment opportunities for youth have been held in which 5000+ candidates participated.
In response to financial constraints faced by underprivileged children aspiring for education, the "Namo Vidyanidhi" initiative offers scholarships of ₹10,000 each to 10,000 meritorious students. These scholarships are paid directly to the respective schools, ensuring financial assistance reaches those who need it most. To date, scholarships have been distributed to 1000 student beneficiaries.
Janaushadhi Kendra generic medicine stores provide medicines at almost 70-90% reduced rates, helping citizens save big on their medical requirements. In Bengaluru South, Tejasvi Surya has made it a mission to set up a maximum number of PMBJKs and alleviate the medical expenditure of the poor. While in 2019, there were 14 Janaushadhi Kendras in Bengaluru South Constituency, over the course of 3 years, the number of kendras has increased exponentially to 112 making Bengaluru the city with the highest number of these generic medicine stores in the country.
Tejasvi Surya reviews the scheme aimed at achieving housing for all and making affordable housing accessible to low and moderate-income citizens across the nation. In Bengaluru South, 1,90,646 houses have been built for the urban poor with a total investment of ₹3,239 crore.
