1. National Investigation Agency:
Bengaluru saw a rise in the number of terrorism modules busted, proven through many NIA arrests in the city. In order to improve the state of law and order in Karnataka, the Centre has set up a National Investigation Agency (NIA) office at Bengaluru to probe the anti-national activity of some organizations. Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji has also assured the setting up of a full-fledged NIA office in Bengaluru after violent incidents at KG Halli and DJ Halli. This will go a long way in investigating and curbing anti-terrorism activities in Karnataka.
2. Bengaluru Safe City Project:
Bengaluru Safe City Project was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, emphasizing the city's commitment to citizen safety. It enhances safety with high-res cameras, forensic vans, and more. 3,000+ strategic locations have been identified in the city which will be equipped with counseling centres, Mobile Command & Control vehicles along with an effective "112" response system & cameras designed to share live feed to command centres & police stations. Additionally, the project encompasses operational mobile forensic vans and plans for 111 Mahila helpline centers, reinforcing safety measures.
In response to financial constraints faced by underprivileged children aspiring for education, the "Namo Vidyanidhi" initiative offers scholarships of ₹10,000 each to 10,000 meritorious students. These scholarships are paid directly to the respective schools, ensuring financial assistance reaches those who need it most. To date, scholarships have been distributed to 1000 student beneficiaries.
Janaushadhi Kendra generic medicine stores provide medicines at almost 70-90% reduced rates, helping citizens save big on their medical requirements. In Bengaluru South, Tejasvi Surya has made it a mission to set up a maximum number of PMBJKs and alleviate the medical expenditure of the poor. While in 2019, there were 14 Janaushadhi Kendras in Bengaluru South Constituency, over the course of 3 years, the number of kendras has increased exponentially to 112 making Bengaluru the city with the highest number of these generic medicine stores in the country.
