Tejasvi Surya achieved a personal goal of completing the Ironman 70.3 relay challenge in Goa. Then, the MP Sports Utsava, the city’s largest sports tournament for the public, returned to record a resounding success. And a new state-of-the-art skating rink gave just the right push for sports and fitness in Bengaluru South.

1. Bengaluru’s biggest Sports Festival

MP Sports Utsava was held on 17th and 18th December 2022 where 5000+ players competed in badminton, football, and table tennis across 42 avenues with India's football legend Shri Sunil Chhetri as Chief Guest.

2. Tejasvi Surya Football Cup

Surya organized the Tejasvi Surya Football Cup, the biggest football event for the public in the city, which saw participation from over 250 teams.

3. Cycle to Freedom

On August 15, 2022 Tejasvi Surya joined 750 riders in the ‘Cycle to Freedom’ 75 km journey from Vidhana Soudha to Kolar, commemorating India's 75th Year of Independence.

4. 1st MP to complete an Ironman Relay challenge

Tejasvi Surya completed 90 km of cycling as part of Team New India in Ironman 70.3 in Goa with civil servant Shreyas Hosur and entrepreneur Aniketh Jain, promoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Fit India Movement. It was the first time that any MP has taken up and completed an Ironman challenge, which is a pure test of human endurance, grit and physical strength. The bigger message for the younger generation is to inculcate a healthy lifestyle.

5. Sarkari Shaala Kreedotsava

Tejasvi held a sports fest exclusively for children studying in Government-run schools. Around 600 students competed in kho-kho, throwball, volleyball & badminton at Transcend Group of Institutions. The idea was to provide these students exposure to standard facilities and give them a taste of the professional competitive spirit of an athlete.

6. Hosting National Championships of Roller Skating

Tejasvi Surya was part of the organizing committee of the 60th National Roller Skating Championships in Bengaluru from December 11-22, ensuring that the organizing team was given adequate financial support from the Central and State Governments.

7. Development of sports infrastructure

Surya has allotted funds from MPLADS to redevelop the basketball courts at the Kittur Rani Chennamma Stadium in Jayanagar and construct new badminton courts in Adugodi.

8. Support for athletes

Be it sponsoring the training of athletes or highlighting their visa issues with the authorities, Tejasvi has been a pillar of support for all sportspersons.

While in 2019, there were 14 Janaushadhi Kendras in Bengaluru South Constituency, over the course of 3 years, the number of kendras has increased exponentially to 112 making Bengaluru the city with the highest number of these generic medicine stores in the country.

Infrastructure - Transport & MobilityPradhan Mantri Awas Yojana

Tejasvi Surya reviews the scheme aimed at achieving housing for all and making affordable housing accessible to low and moderate-income citizens across the nation. In Bengaluru South, 1,90,646 houses have been built for the urban poor with a total investment of ₹3,239 crore.
